Hicham Ghandour was born in 1958 in the capital of Lebanon, Beirut. Having spent 33 years in New York City, he moved back to his home country in 2011 and is currently living in Beirut. Ghandour studied furniture restoration at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and specialized in gilding restoration at Instituto per l’Arte e il restauro (Palazzo Spinelli) in Florence – Italy. This specialization was the first footstep into a career in furniture and gilded objects that started in 2002; as he had the chance to work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York City in the gilding conservation department and with Ralph Lauren Home on prototype pieces of gilded furniture. Hicham Ghandour since 2016 has been designing exclusive pieces of furniture for Nilufar Gallery in Milan.
